Welcome to the official website for the Bartlett Community Concert Band. The BCCB is directed by Dr. Rhendle Millen and was founded in 1991 in Bartlett, TN. No auditions are required to join the band and you do not have to live in Bartlett to be a member. The band is open to all ages and our members hail from several regions of the mid-south including Memphis, Collierville, Millington, Olive Branch, West Memphis and many other locations.
As a volunteer community band, we understand that members are not always able to attend every practice and concert. All we ask is that members enjoy the experience of playing great music when their schedule allows. If it has been years since you’ve played your instrument, it’s not a problem. We encourage new members to start out slow and play what they can. Much like riding a bike, your skills will return to you in due time.
Our season runs from mid-January to mid-December, leaving a month off for the winter holidays. Musical selections range from Masterworks for Wind band to patriotic music, marches, show tunes and pop music.
We hope you will consider joining us to enjoy the experience of playing music with our dynamic community band. All we require is that you provide your own instrument and music stand, and simply attend one of our practices. The BCCB practices every Monday at Whitten Baptist Church from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. On your first practice, we ask that you arrive around 6:45 so that we can get you seated and ready to play.
If you have any questions about joining the band or even booking us for your event, please contact page to fill out and submit the form.
I look forward to seeing you at our next practice!
Sincerely,
Chris Thorne
